Cindy Lou Who? Hair!

Don't I look like a Who? from Whoville???It's stayed like this all evening until bath!

Yes, that is a full plate of dinner. It never got eaten tonight. Being sick stinks!

Sick day..

Poor Graham isn't feeling well. He started with some nasty snotty stuff oozing from his nose pretty much constantly yesterday, along with a cough and sneezing. Tonight he went to bed with a fever of 101. I am hoping he wakes up feeling better. He has been whiny, clingy, and just not happy. I am finding that the hardest thing to get him to do though is just STOP! Stop running, walking, playing, etc. He tries to keep moving and then he will drop a toy, or trip a little, and oh my, the flood gates open! So I tried to get him to sit and cuddle. It worked for a few minutes, but he just wanted to keep moving. So, we played peekaboo! The first picture shows really well how he is feeling:( The following pictures are a series of peekaboo pics. I took these right before bed yesterday, so please ignore how nasty his shirt is, we were 2 minutes away from bath here, so the shirt and all its nastiness was coming off!

Sidenote: Look above at all the board books that are out-they all are ones with photos of babies..these are the only ones he gets out to read!

Buddies!

We had such fun today! Graham and I had Carol and Andrew over for dinner and to play. Andrew and Graham share the same birthday. Carol and I texted all through labor! Here are a few pictures of their play date today......and from a year ago! Babies grow, way, way too fast!

Andrew and Graham on their way up to take a bath.

Andrew isn't a huge fan of the bath, so we thought seeing Graham enjoy it might help. He was completely entertained watching Graham, and we thought we had him sold, he even learned a new word, Duck! So, this was the result. Poor Andrew! We hope he starts to enjoy bathtime soon!

Andrew trying to get through the bath!
After the bath we decided to put the boys in the chair for a photo shoot as we did when they were little guys. Our challenge back then was keeping them propped up...this time it was keeping them sitting still in the chair.
Such big boys!

HAT!

We had a fun early afternoon with all the friends over for lunch, and after a long nap, Graham was ready to play again today. His favorite word this week is "hat". I keep his hats, shoes, coats, in our laundry room. Tonight he kept going into the laundry room saying "hat" and pointing up to them. I got it down, put it on his head, and for the next hour he played and played, but never took off the hat! It cracked me up so I kept taking pictures. He even ate his dinner with the hat on. It NEVER came off until he finished dinner..the hat was on for well over an hour. What a silly guy! He is going to be that kid who shows up to preschool in his batman suit because he refuses to take it off!
Getting my shoes for me...even though I didn't need them!

Busy Busy!

The hat has been on for about 45 minutes at this point..
Dinner with a hat on...yes I know it's poor manners, but too cute in this case.
All done! No more hat!

More Ellies!

Today Graham got a visit from his two other girlfriends named Ellie. Remember a few weeks ago Graham met Ellie B. Today he met Ellie L. and Ellie W. He also got to play with Ellie L's big brother, Jack. Graham met Jack when he was only a few days old, and Jack was about Graham's age now, they are about 13 months apart. It was fun to see them be able to play together. Jack was a very big boy, and really wanted to practice his sharing with Graham, but Graham wasn't too interested! The Ellie's moms and I are all high school friends. We had a good time catching up, though sometimes that is a lot easier to do over a bottle of wine instead of having babies needing constant attention. Kate and the kids are in town for a little bit, so I hope we get some grown up time to catch up!

Graham started to whine and tug on Kate's leg, thinking it was mine. Jack then got jealous and wanted his Mama's leg all to himself...so Kate had both boys needing a little attention:)

Close up of the babies!

Ok, I tried to rotate this, and it just wouldn't work, so sorry! This was the easy picture to get, the next one-not so much!

We had a hard time getting Graham to sit nicely with Jack for a picture!

We used the timer on my camera to take this picture, turned out pretty good. We had a few takes of this, and Jack was right on cue with his "cheese"!

You do what is necessary....

....to keep your house clean! Thanks to the nice 50 degree days we have had, our backyard has gone from covered in snow, to covered in mud/water. It's pretty much a pond back there. When you have dogs, this equates to a mess. Last night I spent a good 20 minutes cleaning off Chloe's paws after she came in. Actually, I cleaned her outside because it was such a mess. The mud was caked into her pads of her paws. I decided there was no way I was doing this four times a day for the next few months. So, today I went to the pet store with a mission, to find something to help us out. I found a solution, but I wasn't about to spend 50 bucks on booties for my dog! I came home, raided my sock drawer, and my bathroom for four hairties, and well, you can see the result. Chloe was a sport about it, went outside, did her business, and came back. Her "shoes" are now by the back door for all future trips outside until my yard becomes solid again!

A precious picture...:)

Baby Signing Time = "Quiet Time"

For Christmas this year Pat got a Blue-Ray player from Mrs. Claus. He loved it, until a certain little person pressed the power button an few too many times, and the thing died. So back to Best Buy it went...along with Graham's favorite DVD, Baby Signing Times. I went to take it out of the case the other day for him (he was running around the family room with the case in his hands saying "Bay, Bay"-think it was a hint?) and it was gone! Tears then ensued as I couldn't produce the goods. Turns out Daddy forgot to check to make sure the player was empty before it went back to the store. So, Daddy got a new blue-ray player, and Graham got a new DVD! It came the other day, and Graham celebrated by watching a little before his nap. This is the only thing he will watch so intently. I like it because he has learned so many good signs, and it has helped him express himself to me. He regularly uses the signs for more, dog, all done, milk and fish. He says the word as he signs, so no, it doesn't seem to be delaying his speech, if anything, I think it really helps it along. Sometimes the words are just a little hard to distinguish, so the signs really help.

"Peez"

That would be what Graham calls Pizza! We have recently discovered that he is like every other kid in the USA and LOVES pizza. I make it a lot on Friday nights, and decided to try giving it to Graham. Well, you would think I am giving him his last meal or something! He eats a full size slice, the same size I eat for dinner! I at least make it myself, so I know its a little bit healthier than many alternatives, but it's nice to know we have a fall back meal for going out! I really need to video him going a little crazy as I am desperately trying to cut and cool the slice for him. He sits in his chair and literally shakes and screeches because he wants it sooo bad!

I did it.....

...I finally got up the courage to cut Graham's hair a little bit today! Not really sure what I have been waiting for, other than a) hoping it miraculously was going to turn into cute little baby curls, or b) it to thicken up all over! But, it was looking pretty straggly...I am not sure what his hair is going to end up looking like as a big boy, but so far, no McDreamy hair here:) Well, the entire fiasco was about two minutes of Graham being upset, Pat trying to hold him still, and me trying very hard to see the boy's head through my tears. Yes, I cried. I pulled it together, but if I had been home alone, it would have been a sob session!

AFTER

C'mon, it's at least a little better, right? We'll see how it looks tomorrow, maybe I'll get brave and get the scissors out again. Or not:)

Binky hunt

Before you watch this, let me explain. When Graham is awake and playing in his crib before I go it to get him, he apparently gets entertainment from throwing his binkies (yes, as in plural-he sleeps with many!) out of the crib. They always land underneath the crib. So, when I go in to get him, the first thing I do is get down on all fours, reach under the crib and get the binks. I never make a big deal about it, I just do it. Well, the last couple of days whenever we go into his room, he runs over to the crib and, well, you will see. The boy has apparently been paying attention! If you listen carefully right at the beginning he says "binks" ....normally I call them "binks"....

Graham and Ellie B...

On Saturday Graham and I went to visit my friend Alicia, and her baby Ellie. Alicia and I played tennis together in high school, and she and her family just moved back into town. We are so happy they are back home! Over the next few weeks Graham is going to be visiting a few adorable little ladies named Ellie...Ellie B. Ellie W. and Ellie L! Ellie B (pictured here) is the oldest of Graham's girlfriends named Ellie, she is 7 and 1/2 months, and just darling! She really liked Graham's shoes as you can see...

We had a great visit, Graham was exhausted after playing with Ellie and especially her daddy. He was a great sport and entertained Graham so Alicia and I could chat and catch up! Thanks Brom!

Fun visit with friends=nap time!
