My sweet boy....

Every now and then I get a really good picture!!!!

Forget Spring..it's Summer!

What a beautiful day we had today! Almost too hot outside. Graham took the opportunity to play outside with his latest hat to protect him from the sun. We spent a good part of the day outside, it was a great day! I finally got to get the basketball hoop outside where I wanted it, we needed something to do outside other than sidewalk chalk and picking up sticks. Graham loves his hoop, checkout his concentration face as he tries so hard to make a basket. He can do it with smaller balls, but the basketball unassisted basket still eludes him!

Big Boy Cereal!

Graham has decided he is big enough to eat cereal like a big boy, with milk, and a spoon! This was his dessert, cheerios with blueberries and vanilla soy milk. Yumm! He really liked it. He is officially getting too big.

Oh, and notice the nod to Earth Day...Graham is reusing his applesauce container from dinner to eat his ceareal:) Happy Earth Day!

Stacking...

If you know me at all, you know how much it bugs me that these are stacked out of order! I was a good mommy though and didn't "fix" it....until he went to bed:)

New park!

Part of being a Mom to a toddler seems to be going to the park...a lot. Which is fine, because we have a great time. Though our usual park is getting a little old, so I thought I would scope out the neighborhood and try to find something new. I found one just as close, but a bit newer, and very exciting to Graham. We took advantage of our few nice days and went a few times over the weekend. We met our friends Jenn and Lilli one day. Lilli is such a daredevil, if you look close you can see her powering UP the slide on her own! Graham watches her in amazement sometimes! I think he sometimes wishes he could be as much of an explorer as she is, but it doesn't seem to be in his little personality. He is content to sit and bounce or swing. He LOVES the swings. I now can't turn in the direction of the park without him saying "weengs" over and over in the car!

Hangin out in the swings...
To climb or not to climb...check out his new summer sandals though, aren't they so cute?
Graham loves this bouncy teeter totter thing....check out Miss Lilli in the background!
Trying to decide if he wants to attempt climbing the slide....he did with my help!

No trip to the park is complete without the first knee scrape of the summer! Time to make sure I have a First Aid kit in the car!

15 month well baby visit today

Today Graham and I went to visit his pediatrician for his 15 month well baby appointment. He was such a good sport until the dreaded shots. I don't know why, but I was actually ok watching him get them as an infant. Now that he is bigger and truly looks petrified and hurt when he wails after the shot, I just feel horrible. Anyway, for the stat update. Here we go.....21 lbs. (10th percentile..though I think that is generous) and 31 and 1/4 inches tall (45th percentile). He got the 4th round of his DTaP immunizations and the dreaded MMR shot. He seemed to be a happy camper the rest of the day, so all is good!

Look who ate his ENTIRE dinner like a big boy tonight (with a fork!!!!)

Bball and babies..

How sweet are these pictures? The easter bunny brought Graham his very own basketball hoop and ball, and he adores it. The ball especially. Rarely does he just sit still like this, but we were both enjoying Oprah. He was watching the video of the baby on the show, and I was crying. It was the story of a single Dad whose wife died of a blood clot the day after giving birth. He has a really great blog actually, check it out Matt's blog. Amazingly sad story, both Graham and I were into it as you can see:)

Who knew bathrooms were so fun?

So this is what the little man does every time he has to hang out with me as I get ready in the bathroom. Those of you with infants, savor the bouncy seat days:) Off to clean my bathroom!

Happy Easter!

Enjoy these photos from our easter egg hunt at my mom's house this afternoon. We had one for Graham at the house this morning as well, pictures of that later. Happy Easter!

Banana Addict

See the banana above? Now look below after it was all smashed in Graham's mouth!

Feeding Graham these days has proven to be a challenge. He pretty much only eats cheese, bananas, strawberries, yogurt, and his absolute favorite, blueberries. He loved all food up until about 2 months ago. I know this is pretty typical toddler behavior, but its a tad bit frustrating! I keep trying to offer new foods, veggies, etc, but he is really only eating fruit! Fun times.

Sick update #2

So Graham was fine Friday and half of Saturday. By the end of the day Saturday, he was coughing, snotty, and congested. Not to mention CRANKY! Poor guy. We put him to bed at 6:30 and he slept in until 8 the next morning. Today he was in much better spirits, but still snotty, congested, and coughing. So the fever he had earlier in the week was a sign of things to come! His urinalysis came back clear, and since he was ok for a day or so, I haven't called the doctor again. I think we are just dealing with the last of the winter colds, and a bit of teething to boot! He is really working on the 4 1st year molars. Ouch! I think we will stay home Monday to rest a bit. Though it is hard to get a toddler to relax. The closest I can get is to get him to sit with me and read books, which he loves. But one can only read for so long ! Sometimes running errands is good because at least he sits still!

Eggs!

Graham is ready to dye the eggs with me! Sarah, recognize the apron?
Graham really wants to grab the eggs. Walking away to take a picture was pretty risky, we almost had green dye everywhere. Notice there is no red. I dropped that tablet in the sink by accident. Oops. So its really bugging me, I will be getting a new kit at the store this week!

Reaching for the "balls".
He wants to throw them so badly!
Finished product! The eggs will be moved once the little guy is awake, they will never last on this table, but they looks so cute! The basket is Pat's basket as a kid. I actually have the same exact one from growing up too. Tomorrow we will be adding the fun Sesame Street stickers that came with the kit Graham picked out at the store. Pink eggs to be added soon:)

Graham's First Egg Hunt!

Graham and I spent the afternoon with our good friends, Jenn and Lilli, who invited us over for an egg hunt today. We were so impressed that the kiddos caught on so fast! It was a great time! Poor Graham's teeth are really hurting (his bottom molars are coming in), and he was kinda sad towards the end of the afternoon. But he looked so cute in his Easter outfit. I decided why not get to wear it twice, right? Thanks Lilli and Jenn for such a fun day!

Decision '09-the result

Congrats to Miss Sarah for making her big decision! The Tyler's will have another Redhawk amongst us. Miami is lucky to have her in the class of 2013! I am sure my stroller-led walking tour was the clincher:)

Decision '09

The last few days, after dealing with Graham's little bug, we were able to have some fun and relive our college days. Pat's cousin Sarah is faced with that senior year decision, where to go to college. It seems as if the decision will most likely be between our alma maters, Denison and Miami University. So of course both Pat and I wanted some face time with Sarah to let her know how much we love our schools! Pat and I drove in to Denison to meet with them on their "last chance visits" on Thursday evening. We had a great dinner at the Granville Inn, and walked around campus. Pat and I were sans baby, so that made it even better to have a night out! The next day, the Tylers were heading to Oxford for Sarah's last chance visit for Miami. With Graham feeling better, and me itching for a road trip, Graham and I decided to join in! I gave my version of the campus tour, with my stroller! It was a great day. As a busy tour guide, I didn't even remember to take all the pictures I had planned...Graham near the turtle heads, under the arches, near the seal, etc. I did get one of him racing around the Admissions building with Sarah, Anne, and Taylor, he had a great time! I think we all did, despite the fact that it was pretty cold, and not the nicest day. We will all be anxiously awaiting Sarah's decision, she can't go wrong!
Showing up at Denison to plead our cases:)
Terrorizing the halls of Admissions at Miami

Sick update

Graham seems to be doing a lot better! His urinalysis came back clear, and his fever was gone within 24 hours. Phew! We are glad that is over!

Sick boy:(

Poor Graham has had a rough day. It started when I went to get him out of bed this morning. The entire crib was soaked. He has certainly peed through a diaper before, but nothing like this. So, we stripped the crib, threw in a load of laundry, had a morning bath, and tried to get on with our day. Graham was completely clingy, whiny and wouldn't eat all morning. He gladly went down for his morning nap. I thought it was just because our day started so poorly, but all he wanted to do was cuddle, as we were sitting after an attempt at lunch I realized he was burning up. Temperature of 102! I called his pediatrician and got him in at 3:45. We had enough time for a nap, which he gladly took. At the pediatrician he was so good, but not feeling well. The Dr. wasn't exactly sure what is going on. Ears and physical checked out, no rash, etc. He gave me these interesting little bags (think vacuum bags) to put over his penis in his diaper to collect a urine sample to bring back in. Easier said than done. The first one got ruined by a poopy diaper. I have one left, saving it for tomorrow morning, wish me luck on that one! Anyway, after Motrin, the fever went down, but by bed time tonight it was up to 103.4. Yikes. Then, as I was giving him his Motrin, he vomited up the only thing he ate all day, blackberries. Poor little guy. He went to bed so easily and I hope it is a restful night. We were going to try a toddler yoga class tomorrow, looks like that isn't going to happen. Hopefully good news tomorrow!
