My new house!
Graham and I took a trip to a certain big obnoxious toy store yesterday. I had spent the night before searching for a new toy for him to play with these days. I will say I have pretty good restraint when it comes to purchasing toys for the little guy, I realized I had only been in said store 4 times since he was born, not bad! Anyway, his toys are getting a little "young" for him, and we are ready to transition to some new things. However, with Christmas and his birthday coming up right around the corner, I obviously want to hold out for Santa! So, this was the winner. It's a little people house with a Mommy, Daddy, and baby. It comes with a couple chairs, a highchair and table. Not to mention a lot of things in the house make noise. The potty flushes, the washing machine swooshes, the phone rings, doorbell rings, the bathtub makes noise and the fridge opens. It's pretty cute. The best has been watching Graham play. I think I made the right choice because he is starting to copy us in his play. Last night I said "let's put the baby to bed in his crib" before we go up for bath". He insisted on first having the baby sit on the potty, then put baby in the bath. The said, "rocky baby night night", and put the baby in his crib, then said, "Mommy, Daddy, night night" and put the Mommy and Daddy to bed too. It was so sweet to watch him role play what we do!
On another note, we finally decided it was a good idea to purchase a video monitor for Graham's room. I never thought one was necessary, one of the more frivolous baby items. However, now that Graham knows how to get out of his crib (which, to date he still has only done twice), we thought it might be a good idea. Especially during his naps. A lot of times he will wake up halfway through his nap, cry a few minutes, or 15, but then go back to sleep for a good hour and a half. So, I wanted to make sure during those time that he was still in the crib, and not trying to get out, or out! Without having to potentially ruin the whole nap to go in and check on him. Anyway, as I am writing this, I am enjoying watching Graham sleep peacefully on the monitor for the first time. I love it! I am so happy we decided to do this, it is so nice to see what he is up to! I am really looking forward to tonight. It normally takes Graham anywhere from 10 -30 minutes at night to fall asleep, during which we hear all sorts of funny stuff on the audio monitor. I am dying to see what he is doing during this time! Should be fun to watch! Oh, and a plus, you can add additional cameras to see other rooms or views. So new baby can have one too!
