I read this article today and it's really been getting to me. I admit the tears really haven't stopped since I read it. While being a parent is a title you hold for life, it is a role that is constanly changing and evolving. I get that, I really do, but even though I have only been at this for four years, I can already understand how much it can pain your heart to watch your children grow up and away from you. Don't get me wrong, I do look forward to all the different stages of my kids' childhood and young adult lives, but there is just something about the little people, isn't there? They melt our hearts like no other. So, Mom and Dad, I apologize for growing up. I honestly do. But at least I get to experience all that you did as parents, as well as to appreciate and thank you from the bottom of my heart for raising me to be able to parent and love my own children. It is the best gift.
So, grab a box of tissues and sit down to read this and enjoy a good cry.
